Academic Excellence
At Hua Hin International School, learning is designed as a continuous journey from early childhood through to pre-university, combining the English curriculum with globally recognised pathways. In the Early Years, the school follows the English Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, supporting development from birth to age five. Children learn through play, exploration, and structured activities that build strong foundations across key developmental areas, guided by specialist teachers in a nurturing environment. In Primary, the National Curriculum for England is adapted to an international context, strengthening core skills in literacy, numeracy, and inquiry. Students also benefit from specialist teaching in areas such as Physical Education, Swimming, Music, PSHE, Mandarin, and Thai, with Thai offered as both a first and additional language. During Years 7 to 9, students experience a broad and balanced curriculum that encourages exploration, independence, and the development of new skills across disciplines, preparing them for more focused academic pathways. In Years 10 and 11, students undertake the Cambridge IGCSE programme, offering a wide range of subjects tailored to diverse interests and abilities, and providing a strong academic foundation. This progression leads into the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Years 12 and 13. As an IB World School, HHIS delivers a rigorous and internationally recognised pre-university qualification, preparing students for higher education and future pathways worldwide. Across all stages, the school emphasises inclusivity, international-mindedness, and the development of confident, well-rounded learners.
Beyond Classroom
At Hua Hin International School, co-curricular experiences are designed to extend learning beyond academics, building confidence, leadership, and global awareness. Students engage in a wide range of opportunities including Model United Nations, FOBISIA competitions, Battle of the Bands, basketball tournaments, residential trips, and challenge days, alongside leadership roles such as Student Ambassadors and event planning initiatives. As a member of FOBISIA, the school provides access to regional and international events, fostering collaboration and friendships across Asia. Creative development is supported through private music lessons—including piano, guitar, drums, singing, and brass—while arts-focused residential trips further enrich student experience. The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award offers an additional pathway for students aged 14+, encouraging skill development, service, and teamwork through expeditions and personal challenges. From the earliest years, children benefit from a nature-connected environment, where free-flow indoor and outdoor play encourages exploration, independence, and a calm, engaging learning experience. Together, these opportunities ensure students grow not only academically, but as confident, well-rounded individuals ready to thrive in a global context.
